Our Global Priority plans can be easily switched to Local Priority during periods when the vessel is stationary—such as off-season or while in the yard—helping to reduce costs while maintaining the same high level of connectivity.
OneWeb and VSAT
For mission-critical operations, having a reliable backup connection is essential. We provide services through OneWeb and VSAT, which are designed to deliver committed service levels (CIR—Committed Information Rate) for vessels that require guaranteed communication. Unlike “best effort” solutions such as Starlink or cellular/5G, these services are engineered for essential operations where consistent connectivity is paramount.
Iridium Airtime for Backup and Emergency Communication
Iridium airtime is available for backup and emergency communications, including Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) requirements. We supply satphone SIM cards, which are typically included in emergency backup systems for all vessels. With rugged and waterproof satellite phones, users are assured of voice communication anywhere in the world, providing a critical safety net if other communication channels fail. We offer a full range of GMDSS Iridium terminals from trusted suppliers such as Intellian and Lars Thrane, fulfilling safety requirements for vessels operating beyond VHF radio range.
5G and AV Streaming
5G Roaming Data SIM
5G connectivity is an ideal complement to Starlink, offering download speeds that can surpass Starlink in optimal conditions and upload speeds that may be more than five times faster. Because 5G/4G performance is affected by signal strength, quality, and network congestion, the best results are typically achieved by combining 5G with other connectivity options to capitalize on each network’s strengths depending on the vessel’s location. During off-season or yard periods, 5G alone is usually sufficient for keeping the crew connected.
